Delhi Jodhpur Vande Bharat Express Begins With 8 Coach Service

Jodhpur is set to strengthen its connectivity with the national capital as Indian Railways prepares to launch the city’s second Vande Bharat Express, running to Delhi Cantt via Jaipur. The semi-high-speed train, designed with eight modern coaches and advanced passenger facilities, promises to deliver a faster, cleaner, and more efficient travel experience.

The new service comes at a time when demand for high-speed, sustainable rail travel is rapidly increasing across India’s urban corridors. According to officials, the train will depart from Jodhpur at 5:30 am and reach Delhi Cantt by 1:30 pm, reducing the journey time to around eight hours. By comparison, conventional express trains currently take longer to cover the same distance. En route, the train will halt at seven intermediate stations, with Jaipur scheduled as a key stop at 9:30 am.

The composition of the train has been tailored to maximise comfort and accessibility. It will feature seven chair car coaches and one executive class coach, offering a total of 608 seats. The executive class will provide 52 premium seats, while the remaining capacity has been designed to accommodate high passenger volumes during peak travel seasons. Train operations will be managed by a dedicated crew, including ticket examiners and on-board service staff.Officials confirmed that the new Jodhpur–Delhi Vande Bharat has already been stationed at Jajiwal, beyond Banar station, for preparatory work ahead of its formal inauguration. This expansion builds on the success of Jodhpur’s first Vande Bharat, which currently operates to Sabarmati.
