Delhi’s public healthcare system has taken a decisive step towards strengthening specialised and critical care capacity with the commissioning of advanced diagnostic and neurological facilities at a major government-run hospital in central Delhi. The upgrades are part of a broader push to improve service quality in public hospitals that cater not only to the capital’s residents but also to patients from neighbouring states. 

The newly operational infrastructure includes high-end diagnostic imaging, a dedicated neuro-intervention facility and a significantly expanded intensive care unit. At the centre of the upgrade is a next-generation computed tomography system capable of high-resolution spectral imaging. Medical specialists note that such systems allow clinicians to detect complex conditions with greater precision while reducing repeat scans. In a high-volume public hospital setting, this can translate into faster clinical decisions and lower cumulative radiation exposure for patients.
