With an expected peak hour ridership of only 8,000, the Neo-Metro will be cost-efficient and is estimated to cost Rs 2,000 crore, a fraction of the cost of a conventional Metro. It will have rubber tires, overhead electric traction, and a design with lower system requirements than traditional rail systems.<\/p>\n<p>CIDCO plans to complete the Neo-Metro within two years, and tender calls and contractor appointments will follow shortly. The project has a credit line of Rs 1,000 crore.
