This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing urban living and fostering sustainable growth in the city.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been directed to prioritise these proposals and allocate the necessary funds to expedite the completion of ongoing projects. Under the GHMC’s stewardship, 42 projects have already been successfully completed, with an additional seven projects currently underway, all aimed at improving the city’s transport system and overall connectivity. The Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP) has been a significant component of this infrastructure overhaul. In its initial phase, 58 projects were undertaken, resulting in the development of 69 km of nalas. Of these, 42 km were completed within GHMC limits through 37 projects. Despite this progress, seven projects within GHMC and twelve in other municipalities remain pending, highlighting the need for continued focus and investment.

The second phase of the SNDP, now integrated into the H-CITI programme, aims to further enhance the city’s drainage and flood management systems. This phase will see the implementation of 35 new projects, with an estimated budget of ₹582.4 crore. This comprehensive plan is indicative of the government’s robust approach to addressing urban infrastructure challenges and mitigating flood risks that have plagued the city in recent years.H-CITI’s launch marks a significant milestone in Hyderabad’s urban development narrative. The programme’s focus extends beyond mere infrastructure improvements; it envisions a transformative urban experience that includes enhanced transport systems, efficient drainage solutions, and sustainable urban planning. These initiatives are expected to bolster the city’s resilience against extreme weather events, a pressing need given the increasing frequency of such occurrences. The state government’s proactive stance in directing GHMC officials to prioritise these projects and ensure timely completion reflects a clear recognition of the critical role infrastructure plays in urban development. The successful implementation of H-CITI is poised to not only improve the quality of life for Hyderabad’s residents but also to position the city as a model for sustainable urban growth in India. As the H-CITI programme progresses, its impact on Hyderabad’s infrastructure and connectivity will be closely monitored. The government’s strategic focus on infrastructure development, coupled with efficient project management, holds the promise of a transformed urban landscape, setting new benchmarks for other cities to emulate. The transformative potential of H-CITI, therefore, represents a significant leap forward in Hyderabad’s journey towards becoming a resilient and future-ready metropolis.

The state government has initiated the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) programme, a bold step aimed at ensuring the comprehensive development of critical

[407,149,146,147,1580,148

post-14498","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-hyderabad","category-infrastructure","category-latest","category-news","category-smartcities","category-urban-news
["GET
