By the decade’s end, Tata Motors aims to move 100 percent to renewable energy for its operations and has communicated this goal to its vendors. The automaker has also created a collaborative platform called \u2018Aikyam\u2019 with its vendors to balance its energy basket with various fuel technologies, including natural gas, flex fuels, biofuels, and zero-emissions options such as battery-electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles.<\/p>\n
Tata Motors showcased a range of commercial vehicles with different propulsion technologies at Auto Expo 2023, including battery-electric, compressed natural gas, flex fuel, hydrogen fuel cell, and hydrogen combustion engine vehicles. While hydrogen-powered vehicles are part of Tata Motors’ strategy, the hydrogen supply chain is still in the early stages of development, and the technology’s maturity is several years away.<\/p>\n
India has set a target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070, and the transportation sector accounts for a fifth of global Co2 emissions.
