Seven deep sea pipeline projects for discharging treated industrial effluents \u2013
\ncosting a cumulative INR 8,321 crore \u2013 are under various stages of execution
\nacross Gujarat. These pipelines are being laid from industrial clusters in
\nAhmedabad, Surat, Ankleshwar, Vapi, Jetpur, Vadodara and Sarigam.<\/p>\n
The most expensive of the projects is the one in Surat, costing an estimated INR
\n4,841 crore. Under this project, pipelines linking Palsana and Kadodara (located
\neast of Surat) and Sachin and Pandesara (located in the west), will be laid and
\ntaken to a disposal point in the deep sea as suggested by the National Institute of
\nOceanography.<\/p>\n
Similarly, pipelines will be laid from Ankleshwar and Jhagadia in Bharuch
\ndistrict \u2013 that will open in Gulf of Khambhat \u2013 costing an estimated INR 276
\ncrore.<\/p>\n
In central Gujarat, a similar pipeline from Vadodara will be laid at a cost of INR
\n128 crore. The proposed deep sea pipeline project from Ahmedabad will cost
\nINR 1,478 crore. Jetpur is the lone industrial estate in Saurashtra where a
\nsimilar pipeline will be laid towards Porbandar (Navi Bandar) at a cost of INR
