Only two firms were shortlisted from the initial three bidders. The contract scope includes the design, manufacture, testing, and commissioning of 132 metro coaches equipped with advanced communication-based train control systems, platform screen doors, depot machinery, and telecommunication networks. The metro cars will also feature energy-efficient propulsion technology aimed at reducing power consumption and emissions.<\/h4>\n<h4>Officials said the delivery timeline has been structured in phases to align with construction progress. A prototype train will be supplied within 56 weeks, followed by additional trainsets over subsequent phases. The first phase, from Kapurbawdi to Dhamankar Naka, will see the introduction of 12 trainsets, while Phase 2, extending to Kalyan APMC via Bhiwandi, will add ten more. Under the contract, Titagarh Rail will maintain the trainsets for five years following a two-year defect liability period.
