The steep gradient on Survey No. 20, Gali No. 1, has long been a safety concern for motorists and residents, prompting city authorities to act under the broader Pune City Traffic Improvement Project.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4>During a site inspection on Friday, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Divate directed the Roads Department to widen the road to its full sanctioned width and implement slope reduction measures. Officials were also instructed to assess the status of adjoining connecting roads and expedite any pending land acquisition necessary for comprehensive road development. \u201cOnce land parcels are acquired, the road can be fully upgraded, which will significantly reduce accident frequency and create an alternative route connecting Bavdhan to the Mumbai\u2013Bengaluru Highway,\u201d an official said. The project is expected to enhance traffic management, provide smoother vehicular movement, and strengthen urban mobility in the area.<\/h4>\n<h4>Local residents have cautiously welcomed the initiative. One Bavdhan Khurd resident remarked, \u201cWe want the solution, not just promises. This stretch is notorious for accidents, so we hope the work is completed promptly.\u201d Another resident from Bavdhan Budruk emphasised, \u201cFor months we have followed up with authorities. It is reassuring that PMC has finally acted to correct this dangerous slope.\u201d Senior citizens in the area expressed similar optimism. \u201cThe slope and traffic conditions posed real hazards,\u201d said a resident of Chandni Chowk. \u201cWe are looking forward to safer roads, reduced congestion, and smoother travel.\u201d<\/h4>\n<h4>The PMC\u2019s intervention reflects a growing focus on proactive urban planning, road safety, and citizen-centric infrastructure in Pune.
