The Haryana government has approved a budget of Rs 616.1 crore for the much-awaited upgrade of the Hodal-Nuh-Pataudi Road into a four-lane highway. This ambitious project aims to improve regional connectivity and promote economic growth by bridging the gap between urban and rural areas in the state. The decision was made during a meeting of the standing finance committee chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh on Thursday.

The 71-kilometer road corridor will link crucial national highways, including NH-248A (Gurgaon-Nuh-Rajasthan), which forms part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and NH-8 (Delhi-Jaipur). This upgraded road is set to become the backbone of regional connectivity, enhancing trade, transportation, and access to essential services such as markets, schools, and healthcare facilities. Haryana’s Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Ranbir Gangwa emphasized that the upgraded road will significantly improve connectivity for rural areas. Villages such as Bilaspur, Pathreri, Bawla, Nuh, Ujina, and Hodal in the region are expected to benefit from easier access. In particular, travel time to 20 villages, including Bhimsika and Nangal Jat in Palwal, will be greatly reduced.

Officials noted that this project will also contribute to the socio-economic development of these villages, creating new opportunities for local residents. The improved road infrastructure is expected to make transportation more efficient, encouraging economic activity and improving the quality of life for people in rural communities. Chief Minister Saini also stressed the importance of timely project completion and suggested reforms in the tender process to avoid delays in infrastructure projects. Under the proposed changes, if the lowest bidder (L1) withdraws from the project, the contract will automatically transfer to the second-lowest bidder (L2) to maintain uninterrupted progress. With this strategic investment, Haryana is set to enhance its road network, boosting regional connectivity and supporting the state’s growth in both urban and rural sectors.
